Hotel table - new again!

I just bought this old hotel table at Second Chance Salvage.

I painted it green and covered it with tile from Home Depot. I'm not sure I like the green color--stay tuned to see if it changes to......

Camp Stove

The original stove at our cottage.  My husband gets credit for talking me into having it restored.

Good Morning

My favorite Hotel Liquidator purchase.  I know my guests all love to wake up to this view.

Beach themed guest room

Ikea bamboo room divider cut in half to make 2 twin headboards

Functional and Patriotic!

No explanation needed:)

Porch Light???

Fern duty

For the last two years, my husband has tried to save our porch ferns in the house during the winter.  This will be the "before".  I'll add the "after" next May.
The first year they died when we put them outside to make room for our Christmas party. Last year they survived until we put them outside too early in April.

Door Headboard

I sanded down an old door to be used as the headboard in our guest room.  To hide the old door knob/ lock holes, we mounted old door knobs and hardware.  The side tables are part of an old vanity.  The middle piece was damaged and cut away to gain 2 great tables.
The picture below shows how much fun I had with sanding.

New Old coffee table

I just refinished this old cart for use as a coffee table.
I forgot to take a "before" picture.
It had old nasty carpet nailed to the top and needed a lots of love.
The number 5 was there under the grime.

Before......During.....After

Here is how our little project started...

The ultimate "before" picture.

Our Maine Camp was built in the early 1930's.  I found this picture along with some old driver's licenses while cleaning.  I believe the lady on the porch was Ms. Grace Mildred Cameron. The picture was taken in July, 1939.

The Camp when we found it.

One year later!

Frankie and Apple

Frankie and his new friend Apple.

Old stove table

I bought this to use as a base for our kitchen table.  I changed my mind and decided to paint it red, have a piece of glass cut as an insert in the top, and use it for an end table.
I love that it is originally from Baltimore.

Wash tub file cabinet

I bought this at the Crumpton Auction.  My friend suggested it's use as a file cabinet.
It is even on wheels!

Home is where the Army sends you.

Now that we are staying in Ellicott City, we have a directional sign to remind us of all the places we have lived.

Flat Screen TV above the fireplace mantel idea/solution

Modeled after the old fireplace mantels.
We have our family room flat screen TV above the fireplace  instead of a mirror .
We drilled a hole on top of the lower mantel and ran the wires down the side and out the bottom to the plug.  We also thought ahead and ran a household extention plug from the top of the new mantel all the way down to the bottom so we have an electric source at the top for Christmas decorating.  I am still thinking of painting the whole thing a nice warm color, but that will wait for another day.
